“Rite of Spring” Art Exhibit: through March 30, Charleston.

The Clay Center for the Arts & Sciences of West Virginia features the “Rite of Spring,” an exhibit by Charleston artists Chris Dutch and Robin Hammer. This new installation renders Dutch and Hammer’s impression of the ballet, music and history of Igor Stravinsky’s “Rite of Spring.” Made from wood, glass and metal, these three-dimensional artworks are available for viewing at the Clay Center’s Avampato Discovery Museum Wednesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. For more information, call 304-561-3570 or visit www.theclaycenter.org.

 

“Dolls of the World” Exhibit: through April 6, Wheeling.

This exhibit at Kruger Street Toy & Train Museum features dolls accumulated by Anna Fulton of Pittsburgh, Pa., during her travels around the world during the 1930s through the 1950s. Hours for the exhibit are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays through April 6. Cost is $8 for adults, $7 for those age 65 and over, $5 for children 10-18, and free for those under 10 with a paying adult. For more information, contact 304-242-8133.

 

2008 Festival of Food and Wines at Lakeview Golf Resort & Spa: Jan. 25-27,Morgantown.

Learn from some of the best chefs as they present their favorite recipes and demonstrate a variety of culinary skills. Fasnacht Festival: Feb. 2, Helvetia.

This long-time Swiss tradition occurs every year on the Saturday before Ash Wednesday to drive away winter. “A Groovy Kind of Murder” Dinner Theater: Feb. 2, Mullens.

Directed by storyteller, actress and writer Karen Vuranch, this murder mystery will keep participants guessing at Twin Falls Resort State Park. The plot is centered on a group of talented singers called The Love Beads. Before the night ends a murder will be committed. Cost for the dinner theater only is $38 per adult and $30 per child. An overnight package costs $131 and includes dinner for two, theater for two and accommodations in the lodge. Other package options are available. Valentine Express Dinner Train: Feb. 9, Petersburg
