Mountain State fun and events through
April 25
- Easter Egg Hunt: April 10, Camp
Creek. Enjoy a free egg hunt to celebrate Easter. Children ages 1 –
12 are welcome to bring baskets or bags to collect eggs. Registration begins
at noon. Egg hunt begins at 1 p.m. Concessions will be available. See the
Easter bunny and Smokey the Bear. There will be a bike give a way. For additional

- Bramwell Easter Egg Hunt: April
10, Bramwell. Meet at the Bramwell Heritage Train Depot for an afternoon of
Easter treats. The story of Peter Rabbit begins at 1 p.m. An egg hunt is from
1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Prizes include a $50 gift certificate hidden in one of the
eggs, along with many other door prizes. Admission is two real colored eggs
per child. Children up to age 12 are welcome. A petting zoo and photos with

- Easter Buffet Brunch and “Sunday
@ Two” performance: April 11, Beckley. Enjoy Easter at Tamarack with
a buffet and music performed by The John Yurick Trio in the conference center.
Buffet will be served 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Reservations are suggested. The
“Sunday @ Two” series will feature Ron Sowell performing a children’s

- The Pence Springs Sunday Flea
Market: April 4 – October, Pence Springs. Visit one of the largest outdoor
flea markets on the grounds of the historic Pence Springs Resort. No admission

- Appalachian Heritage Festival
and Seven Sundays to Remember: April 17 - 18, Wheeling. Oglebay Resort will
host an Appalachian music festival featuring food, dance, nature and crafts.
No admission charged. Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Schrader Center.
On April 18, the Mansion Museum will host Dr. David Javersak who will speak
about the National Road, “Highway USA”. The program will begin
at 1 p.m. After the program, guests may tour the Mansion and Glass Museum

- Blue and Grey Dinner at West
Virginia Independence Hall: April 20, Wheeling. Big Spitler, author of “Hero
of the Republic: The Biography of Triple Medal of Honor Winner, James Madison
Cutts, Jr.” will speak on his book which is set during the Civil War
era. A wine and cheese reception begins at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m.
The lecture is at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person for reception, dinner

- Spring Mountain Festival: April
23 – 25, Petersburg. Events including amusement rides, arts and crafts,
food vendors, petting zoo, glass blowing, and live entertainment highlight

- Wine, Wildflowers and West Virginia
Wonders! April 23 – 25, Grafton. Enjoy Tygart Lake State Park while
taking in the colors of spring. Trail hikes and tours of local wineries and
glass manufacturers. Saturday’s lunch is at Lamberts Winery in Weston.
Price per person is $186.42, per couple $280.99. This includes two nights
lodging, all meals and refreshments, all tours, bus trip, taxes and gratuity.

- 18th Annual Great Greenbrier
River Race: April 24, Marlinton. Teams and individuals can participate in
this triathlon that includes, a relay race, comprising legs of canoeing, mountain
biking and running. Race starts at 11 a.m. when canoes set off beside the
Greenbrier River Bridge at the intersection of Highways 219 and 39 in Marlinton.
A mandatory race meeting is at 10 a.m. Spectators are welcome. To register,
