Hatfield-McCoy Reunion Days ATV Dirtbike Festival: June 7-10, Delbarton, Matewan, and Williamson. Ride the thrilling and exciting off-road Buffalo Mountain Trail System and also enjoy the historical events of the Hatfield-McCoy Reunion Festival held nearby at the same time. Registration is $85.95 for all riders and includes riding for all three days, trail permits, three meals, a t-shirt and hat, and other attractions and activities. 10 th Annual Bluegrass Day: June 10, Camp Creek State Park. Listen to bluegrass music on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is free, and concessions will be made available at a fee by Camp Creek State Park Foundation. West Virginia Day Celebration and Civil War Re-enactment: June 15-17, Canaan Valley Resort State Park. The 12 th annual West Virginia Day celebration will kick off with a Civil War re-enactment, encampment and battlefield surgery demonstration. Arts, crafts, hayrides, and much more will be available. Hometown Mountain Heritage Festival: June 15-17, Ansted. Come for a weekend-long festival full of old-fashioned fun. Activities will begin at noon on the 15 th and include a coal-shoveling contest, art and craft displays, wood and metal artisan demonstrations, street fair, street dance, car show, food, free music all three days, and an interpretive walk on the Hawks Nest Rail Trail. Mountain Heritage Arts & Crafts Festival: June 8-10, near Charles Town and Harpers Ferry off Rt. 340. This festival is one of the most prestigious on the east coast. Approximately 200 previously juried artists will display and sell quality crafts at reasonable prices. Also available throughout the weekend will be food, wine tasting and bluegrass entertainment. Admission will be $6 for adults and $3 for children ages 6-17; children under 6 years of age are free. Parking is free. The festival will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. all three days. Fiddles and Vittles Train – Cass Scenic Railroad State Park: June 16, Cass. Enjoy an evening train ride to Whittaker Station, a buffet-style dinner, and live bluegrass music. Other dates are also available throughout the summer on Saturdays. Admission for adults is $30, $20 for children (5-12), and $10 for children under 5. Reservations must be made prior to visit. 9 th Annual Marx Toy & Train Collectors National Convention: June 14-16, Wheeling. The convention, held in the Kruger Street Toy and Train Museum, will feature workshops on topics such as the cleaning and restoration of collectible toys. Native People of the Point: June 8-10, Point Pleasant. Native re-enactors will entertain with presentations, historical portrayals and demonstrations in an authentic Shawnee village. There is no fee for the activities, although visitors may pay a $5 fee on Friday and Saturday nights to hear three speakers give presentations on Chief Logan, Chief Cornstalk and Native American clothing. The village will be located at Fort Randolph in Krodel Park in Point Pleasant. Mid-Ohio Valley Multi-Cultural Festival: June 15-17, Parkersburg. Enjoy an International festival with folk dancers, exotic ethnic foods, and a wide variety of music and crafts. Types of music and dance will include Latin Fusion, Asian, Jazz, Middle Eastern, Scottish, Swing, and traditional Appalachian. Vendors will be selling craft merchandise of both international and local flavor. A craft area for children will be featured as well. Old Central City Days: June 14-16, Huntington. Held in the Antiques Capital of the Tri-State (OH, KY, WV), this festival will feature flea markets, specialty shop sales, antiques, entertainment and historic tours on 14 th St. West. Also, Thursday, June 14, will mark the start of the 3 rd Annual Summer Concert Series at Pullman Square from 7-10 p.m. with the Angie Fletcher Band. 24 Hours at Big Bear: June 9-10, Hazelton. Coming up on its 16th year, the 2007 annual mountain bike race will take place at Big Bear Lake Camplands in scenic Preston County. Each year, there are six 24-hour mountain bike races across the U.S., and the event held in West Virginia is the original race. Approximately 150 teams will be competing with participants from all over the U.S. Those who would like to watch the race may join more than 500 spectators.
