WEST VIRGINIA TOURISM COMMISSION POSTPONES REVIEW OF ADVERTISING GRANTS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.VA. - The West Virginia Tourism Commission today postponed its March 17 advertising grants review meeting, citing pending legislation that would affect the amount of money available in the Cooperative Tourism Promotion Fund.

The West Virginia Legislature on March 13 passed Senate Bill 197, which would drastically reduce the amount of money available for the matching grants program if it is signed into law. The commission agreed to reschedule a meeting to review those pending grant proposals later this month, said chairman Dave Arnold.

The commission will conduct its regular March 18 meeting at the West Virginia Division of Tourism office in South Charleston.
