Get more for your tourism advertising dollars

West Virginia Division of Tourism hosts workshop December 11

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – What’s better than getting a good deal for your advertising dollars?  Getting twice as much – or more – from the deal because you’ve partnered with the West Virginia Division of Tourism through its Cooperative Tourism Promotion Fund!

“Each year, the West Virginia Tourism Commission and the West Virginia Division of Tourism work with industry businesses of all sizes to help them make the most of their advertising dollars through the Matching Advertising Partnership Program,” said Anna Plantz, director of the Division’s Cooperative Tourism Promotion Fund.  “By offering this workshop to tourism businesses throughout the state, we hope to see stronger promotion and more visitors.”

The free workshop will be Tuesday, Dec. 11, beginning at 2 p.m. at the West Virginia Division of Tourism office, 90 MacCorkle Avenue SW, South Charleston.  A presentation on the application process will be presented by Plantz while Les Smith and Eric Ayersman will explain the reimbursement and audit processes. These Division of Tourism representatives will offer application writing assistance to participants.

“There are two levels of matching advertising programs for small to large tourism advertising partnerships and a third, separate program for fairs and festivals,” Plantz said.  “Working together with tourism industry partners, we are able to help local businesses and events find the best matches for them within the program.”

To register for the workshop, contact Tonya Conley at 304-558-2200, ext. 344 or send an e-mail to tconley@wvtourism.com
