Spend a fall evening at The American Mountain Theater in Elkins

ELKINS, W.Va. — Night comes early during the fall foliage season, but that doesn’t mean the show has to end. After a day of traveling around the state viewing West Virginia’s autumn show of colors, plan to spend the evening in Elkins, W.Va., where you can take in another colorful show at the American Mountain Theater (AMT).

On July 27, 2007, AMT opened for business in its new 525-seat state-of-the-art music theater in the historic Railyard in Elkins, W.Va., thereby becoming the state’s first and only “Branson Style” family music, comedy and variety show. A cast of 11 seasoned entertainers will treat you to country, gospel, bluegrass and patriotic music as well as light-hearted comedic impersonations of popular entertainers, including Frank Sinatra, the Beatles, Roy Orbison, the Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin, the Beach Boys, Tina Turner, the Bee Gees and Michael Jackson. Dance numbers are also included in the show, along with clean family comedy which will leave you feeling fine and totally entertained. All together, the performers bring audiences the freshest sound in the mountains.

“When producing a show, I try to showcase every cast member in his or her best light by selecting the very best material possible for each entertainer to perform,” says American Mountain Theater owner Kenny Sexton. “By doing this, I try very hard not have any ‘filler material,’ but instead all ‘A’ productions.  I also make

every attempt to take the audience on an emotional ride that includes several ‘goose-bump’ moments throughout the show.”

With the American Mountain Theater’s location in the historic Elkins Railyard, they are now part of a brand new motorcoach and vacation destination. In addition to its 7:30 p.m. live, two-hour flagship evening show, AMT also offers a completely different one-hour day show by appointment for motorcoach groups. The Historic Railyard is also home to the Durbin and Greenbrier Valley Scenic Railroad and a new Holiday Inn Express motel.

“The fantastic entertainment provided at the American Mountain Theater and other nearby attractions makes it ‘the Hottest Show Ticket Between New York and Nashville!’” says Sexton.
